It’s Earth Day, butterflies and bees are humming and buzzing, and I’m buzzing too–I’m about to release a new video and single and play a show and it feels gooooood!!

A few weeks ago I had the huge pleasure of shooting a video with my favorite muppets — aka the boys in the band– and being directed by the talented Christopher Ciccone. We rocked, we rolled, we wrapped at 3 a.m.

The thing about being here on earth (ahhh, see what I did? Brought it back to earth day) and doing what you love is that, while you never know what is coming around the corner, you do know the odds are it’s going to be an adventure. And that’s what it’s all about my friends–the adventure. The journey. Charles Bukowski wrote, “Find what you love and let it kill you”. I’m more of the, “Find what you love and let it guide you” school. But either way, you get the point. We’re here for a second. Do what you love. Trust me on this.

Very serious looking shot of us absolutely rocking out…

Okay, I know the title sounds a little risqué, but I’m seriously just referring to playing music. And maybe barbecue.

The shows last week in Austin were great fun–combining my solo material in the same night with the old Ginger & Sarah Band tunes was a wonderful kind of full circle feeling.

I came home with a bellyful of Tex Mex and excitement to finish out the performing year with a full band set at my favorite Hollywood joint: Room 5 Lounge. Next Tuesday we’ll play our last show of 2014, a year that took me from LA to Miami to LA to NYC to the Hamptons to Texas and back to LA. Please join us to celebrate such an adventurous year! There will be new tunes. And tequila. xox (See Shows page for details/tix.)

lazonaSince I’m going back to Texas next week for a reunion with my old band, I thought I’d share some Throwback Thursday photos with you! We used to play spots like La Zona Rosa and Saxon Pub all the time–serious Austin landmarks. (And yes, that’s my old VW bus, Biku. I cried when I sold it.) Ginger Leigh and I tore it up in the incredibly creatively named Ginger & Sarah Band!

The Ginger & Sarah Band played 4-5 times a week, toured around the Southwest and Europe, and recorded 2 albums. We’ll be playing lots of songs off those records next Friday!
