Very serious looking shot of us absolutely rocking out…

Okay, I know the title sounds a little risqué, but I’m seriously just referring to playing music. And maybe barbecue.

The shows last week in Austin were great fun–combining my solo material in the same night with the old Ginger & Sarah Band tunes was a wonderful kind of full circle feeling.

I came home with a bellyful of Tex Mex and excitement to finish out the performing year with a full band set at my favorite Hollywood joint: Room 5 Lounge. Next Tuesday we’ll play our last show of 2014, a year that took me from LA to Miami to LA to NYC to the Hamptons to Texas and back to LA. Please join us to celebrate such an adventurous year! There will be new tunes. And tequila. xox (See Shows page for details/tix.)

I was talking to someone in advertising recently, who deals in client management, and she said, “You know, but it’s not creative like being a musician.”

To which my response was, “Hogwash.” Or something unprintable. But my point was that everything in life is creative. All of it. Cleaning is creative. Breathing is creative. Etc and so forth.

I’ve got some shows coming up–you know what I do to feel inspired and creative for that?

And of course I rehearse with my muppets!!

Sure hope to see you all at my shows in Austin and Los Angeles!! See details on the Shows page. Until then, go create! xox

peony Inspiration comes at you from all over when summer sets up shop. Peonies and cherries are exploding, the jacaranda trees are finishing up their purple confetti blooms, and I’m practicing several hours a day to the soothing background noise of massive construction outside my house.
Believe it or not, in a couple weeks this should be a summer oasis!

I’m so excited about two big shows coming up: June 17th at 54 Below in New York City, and June 19th at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett! How did I get so lucky? Both spots are legendary, and my band and I are hoping to live up to the hype. So while the days approach the longest of the year, I’m approaching the airport in a mere 72 hours! There are a few tickets still left for the 54 Below show I’m told–come join the boys and me and let’s have a party!! xox In the meantime, I tried to match my pedicure to the peonies. But the peonies won by a mile. uke
