The magic zone...
The magic zone…
Last week I spent four intense, wonderful, sonic boom days in my old hometown of Ojai, CA, recording tracks for a new EP. The space: a cozy barn in the East End, surrounded by orange trees. The peeps: Sean Ingoldsby (great engineer), Mario Calire (my high school pal and amazing drummer), a cat, a guinea pig named Princess Sophie (!!), and me… It was wild, fun, sweet and exhausting–in all the good ways. Got me all riled up for my show on Saturday (at Room 5 in Hollywood! Full band! Yee haw! Come!) and excited for the new year and the adventures to come…
Ahhh! I've been working for 12 hours! I've had too much coffee!!

Rain DanceNope, it hasn’t rained yet. But it is early September, the light is fading and the heat wave has broken, which brings with it the promise of (subtle) autumn here in Los Angeles. It’s more than enough to share with you a song off my recent album: “Better Than This Morning”. The song starts with the lines, “Rain is here, early September / Falling lightly, I remember / How we used to sit and laugh / drink our coffee, make our plans”. So drink your coffee and make your plans. Feel your feelings and ride the seasons! xox Better Than This Morning

sarah_watersmall1Funny thing time. Einstein helped us realize that it’s very bendy and odd and not at all linear. Even so, we (or at least I) seem to need a lot of it to figure things out. I recently wrote a new song about life and time, you know–stuff like that. Decided to throw down a demo late last night on my trusty old Roland hard disk recorder which is basically like recording with dinosaurs but I don’t care. See? That time thing, again.. :) Listen below! xox Time harddisk
